HinkleFEST & Benefit Auction: October 10 & 11, 2025
The HMS HinkleFEST & Benefit Auction is held annually, rain or shine, on the second weekend of October. It is a time for community building as the school families work together to welcome neighbors, alumni, friends & family to our school and raise funds to underwrite the cost of education at HMS. With lots of fun at the KidsFEST as well as delicious food and great auction items, the whole family can enjoy a weekend together!
This event has concluded for the 24-25 school year. Thanks to all who came to enjoy this special weekend!
HinkleFEST & Benefit Auction: October 11 & 12, 2024
This year’s theme is Our Homegrown Treasures! Lancaster County is truly a unique corner of the world. HinkleFEST will showcase the many amazing treasures we enjoy here, including locally grown & sourced food items, regionally unique experiences, and exceptional goods and services of our local business community.
Friday, October 11: 4:00-7:00 pm
Chicken Chase & Family Fun Run – Get moving with your family at this annual fun run. Register here!
HMS Annual Pork BBQ Dinner – Come out to enjoy a pulled pork meal. Drive-thru or outdoor picnic seating options available.
Auction Preview – All of the great items that will be sold on Saturday will be on display. (Get a sneak peek here!)
NEW! Alumni Makers Market: Come to check out the craft and expertise of HMS alumni!
NEW! FOR THE KIDS: Candy Drop for the kids at 6:15pm
Through the evening: Bounce House, Cotton Candy, Farm Equipment to explore
Saturday, October 12:
8:00 am: Bidder registration with Martin & Rutt Auctioneers opens
8:00-10:00 am: Breakfast & coffee available at the food tables
9:00 am: Live Auction begins with Martin & Rutt Auctioneers
10:00 am-2:00 pm: KidsFEST Activities: Bounce house, games, petting zoo and more
10:00 am-2:00 pm: Festival food: fresh-baked apple dumplings, hand-cut french fries, and much more
Approx. 3:00 pm: Auction concludes when final items are sold

Auction Program & Sale Schedule
2024 Special Giving Project: Playground Update – GOAL $15,000
Each year we hold a Special Giving Project as part of the HinkleFEST Benefit Auction as a way for our community to contribute to the life of the school without purchasing physical items to take home. This year, we are raising funds for a playground upgrade to benefit every grade level, to include:
- Removal of the remaining wooden structures (balance beam and parallel bars) in the Elementary playground and the installation of a wooden Noah’s Ark PlaySet from Lapp Structures
- Relocation of the Gaga Pit and the addition of a rubber mat.
- Installation of a basketball hoop on the concrete slab where the Gaga Pit is currently.
The very first Special Giving Project was auctioned off at the 2000 HMS Auction. The last $1,000 left over from the original mortgage was raised in little over a minute! Former patron/current grandparent, Don Weaver, is shown here burning the mortgage that same day.
